In all three categories, she has to battle them out with Beyonce Knowles who puts up front her single "Halo". Beyonce herself is up for four nominations, one in Best Video for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)". Other international acts who are competing this year include Jay-Z, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Linkin Park, The Veronicas and Kanye West. Meanwhile, there is one category, Best European Act, which contenders will only be announced on October 12. Voting for the available categories has been kicked off on Monday, September 21 at MTV.co.uk. The ceremony to hand out the prizes will be held in Berlin, Germany on November 5. Confirmed performers are Green Day, Leona Lewis and Tokio Hotel.
