Happy day: Denise Richards cheered up her two daughters, Sam and Lola today, by treating them to a cheerful bouquet of pink and purple balloons

With the media frenzy surrounding their father's antics, the past few weeks have no doubt been difficult for Charlie Sheen's children.

And while most of the attention has been focused on the actor's two twin boys, Bob and Max, his two daughters which he shares with Denise Richards, are also sure to have been affected.

But their mother made sure to cheer them up today, by treating the girls to a huge bouquet of pink and purple balloons.

Birthday girl: Older daughter Sam, middle, celebrated her birthday last week when she turned seven

The 40-year-old actress was spotted out with the two girls as she unloaded the big bunch out of her SUV.

Denise was dressed casually for the warm Californian day in a black tank top, three quarter length trousers and flip flops.

Her two daughters; seven-year-old Sam, and six-year-old Lola, were wearing similar pale pink outfits and flip-flops.

Relaxed: Charlie Sheen and his lover Natalie Kenly joined friends for dinner at the W Hotel in Los Angeles last night while his estranged wife Brooke Mueller threw a birthday party for his two sons, Max and Bob

Older daughter Sam celebrated her birthday last week when she turned seven.

While there was no birthday celebration reported, according to TMZ, Denise banned her ex-husband from seeing Sam on her big day.

Reportedly, Charlie had planned to throw his daughter a birthday party last weekend, but the plans were thwarted by Denise.

'Charlie wants to have a big party at his house this weekend, celebrating Sam's birthday, and inviting all her friends' a source told the website.

'We're told Denise is scoffing at the invitation and says Sam isn't going, nor are any of her friends.'

In the end, the actor was only allowed to call Sam to send his birthday wishes, and thus far has not had any physical contact with both of the girls.

As reported, Charlie missed out on his twin son's birthday party last night after being banned from the festivities.

The actor's estranged wife Brooke Mueller threw a party for the twin boys but left Sheen off the invite list.

Max and Bob, who turned two yesterday, were joined by around 50 guests at the bash thrown at Kathy and Rick Hilton's Bel Air mansion.

The backyard of the home was decked out with balloons and decorations with guests arriving with gift baskets, books, games and matching push cars and clothes.
