Riccione, ITALY, May 25, 2009 – The Miss Universe Italy 2009 pageant took place yesterday night, at the Palariccione, in Riccione, Italy.

The winner was Laura Valenti, who edged out 23 other beauties from across Italy.

Last year Italy placed among the top 10 in Miss Universe 2008, in Vietnam. Laura will try to keep the Italian streak going.

Saturday night was a night to remember for 19-year-old Chloe Mortaud!
In a huge event held in Le Puy du Fou in western France, Chloe, which comes from Albigeois-Midi Pyrénées and whose role model is actress Halle Berry, was crowned Miss France 2009 after she competed with 36 other beautiful French girls!
Chloe came up as a finalist with 4 other girls who have been named her runner-ups!
1st runner up Miss Lorraine, 2nd runner up Miss Pays de Loire, 3rd runner up Miss Mayotte and 4th runner up Miss Bretagne.

Chloe isn't the first nonwhite French girl to be crowned Miss France.
She's born to an African-American mother and white French father, was born in Mississippi and grew up in California.
She speaks many languages, one of which is Chinese!

Twenty-four year-old Martina Lee was crowned Miss Germany 2009 at the Hotel Park-Inn in Dortmund last night, July 5th.

The gorgeous 1.78 meters tall beauty queen is going to represent Germany at the 58th Miss Universe to be held in Bahamas on August 23rd. She beat 6 other candidates to bag the crown. Her vital statistics of 34-23-32 could has been one of the major factors that propelled her to victory.

July 5 2009 – Martina Lee was selected from a group of strong candidates to carry the title of Miss Universe Germany 2009. Martina Lee has requested her favorite designers Greg & Cora to design her gowns for the Miss Universe pageant. Dutch Aruban co-designers Greg and Cora provided the candidates with evening gowns and Luxury Caftans & Blouses for the finale.
