Brit Awards 2010: Party time for The Saturdays... but winner Lady Gaga can't even raise a smile

By Lizzie Smith

Watch out: Mollie King tripped and nearly fell as The Saturdays headed home from The Brits afterparty at London's Mandarin Oriental hotel

They weren't even nominated for any gongs at last night's Brit Awards.

But had there been an award for partying The Saturdays would have triumphed.

The girlband got into the party spirit as they helped the winners celebrate at the official afterparty.

But it wasn't without mishap. Mollie King fell as she left the venue, slipping over in her high heels.

Before the fall: Mollie and bandmate Frankie Sandford show off their trim figures

The 22-year-old blonde lunged forward as her feet went in opposite directions, grabbing blindly at her bandmates to save herself.

And Vanessa White didn't fare much better, thanks to her revealing dress.

A sheer lace panel at the front slipped to the side throughout the night, revealing the 20-year-old's lack of underwear.

It seemed the band could have taught Lady Gaga a thing or two about having a good time.

It was undeniably the New Yorker's night - with a triple win and well received live performance.

But she couldn't even raise a hint of a smile as she arrived to join the party.
In fact the 24-year-old looked tired and unhappy, despite her three new trophies.

Home time: Gaga was not celebrating as she was escorted back to her hotel

She had earlier thrown organisers of the show into chaos when she altered her planned set at late notice.

Instead of the extravagant performance planned, Gaga decided to perform a pared down set in tribute to the late designer Alexander McQuuen, who died last week.

But while Gaga was in no mood to celebrate, the Universal bash at London's exclusive Mandarin Oriental hotel attracted an array of fun seeking celebrities.

It was just one of the after partys thrown by competing record label bosses

Time to party: Pixie Geldof and Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts

Celebrity offspring Pixie Geldof arrived in sheer lilac lace with a black leather jacket.

Her trashy look was overshadowed by the more polished party goers.

Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts showed off her fashionably pale skin in a black, purple and pink bow dress.

And former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke went for old fashioned glamour in a red floor-length gown.

Fellow Wags: Frank Lampard's girlfriend, TV presenter Christine Bleakley and Peter Crouch's finacé, model Abbey Clancy

Some of the most dedicated party goers were JLS, who despite coming as runners up in the 2008 X Factor were the only talent show graduates to scoop awards.

With two to celebrate the four bandmates had double the fun as they dropped in to all the partys on offer.
Fellow band The Sugababes were also enjoying the free-flowing drinks, while Lily Allen was out celebrating her first award.
