Spotted! Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal seen together for the first time in Nashville yesterday, confirming the weeks of dating rumours


Rumours that they were dating have swirled around for weeks.

But country singer Taylor Swift and actor Jake Gyllenhaal finally seem to have confirmed them - with a romantic visit to her hometown.

The couple were photographed together for the first time by a fan as they enjoyed a date at a coffeehouse, just two days after they were seen spending Thanksgiving together in New York.

The pair enjoyed a cosy breakfast at Fido Coffee-house and Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee yesterday, just two days after spending Thanksgiving together in New York.

'They were smiling and laughing. They were talking a lot and enjoying each other's company,' fellow diner Elaina Mishu told PEOPLE magazine.

'They didn't look like just friends.'

'They were not trying to be discreet by any means. They were definitely a couple. They looked very happy.'

Taylor, 20, wrapped up warm in a patterned blue hat and sweater as the couple queued alongside everyone else.

Taylor and Jake, 29, were first rumoured to be dating back in late October and have been seen together several times since then.

Last Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, they went out for coffee in the Brooklyn neighbourhood of New York, just round the corner from where Jake's sister Maggie Gyllenhaal lives.

The pair reportedly popped into Park Slope's Gorilla Coffee where they enjoyed maple flavoured lattes.

'They were really sweet, really really sweet,' a source at the shop told People, adding that the duo also tipped well.

Just last month Taylor side-stepped questions from talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres about the budding romance, saying she was 'always optimistic about love...always, sometimes.'

Taylor has previously dated stars including John Mayer and Twilight star Taylor Lautner, while Jake ended his four-year relationship with actress Reese Witherspoon late last year.
