Phuket will be a host for Miss Poland 2009 Preparation Camp on October 7-11, 2009
PHUKET: Eyebrows and blood pressures were raised in Phuket this evening when 25 Miss Poland contestants touched down at Phuket international Airport.
The Polish beauty pageant contestants are in Phuket courtesy of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and they'll be visiting various venues around the island over the next few days, taking part in a series of photo shoots.TAT's Frankfurt Office director Suwalai Pinpradab accompanied the Miss Poland contestants after convincing their representatives that Phuket's natural beauty would be the perfect backdrop for the Polish beauties. 
TWENTY-FIVE contestants in the Miss Poland competition arrived on Phuket tonight, smiling broadly and wai-ing for the cameras.They are due to spend several days in the region, making a trip to Phang Nga Bay tomorrow, stopping for a visit at Koh Panyee, the Muslim stilt village that is a popular tourist attraction. The day after that, they will be venturing to Phi Phi. With them tonight was a contingent of Polish media, equally happy to be spending time in the tropics in preparation for the more intense aspects of the competition back in Poland. Vice Governor Smit Parawichai led a group of Phuket women who welcomed the contestants and presented them with garlands. The Polish visitors had spend a short time in Pattaya.Competition coverage should help attract more Poles to Phuket, and Thailand. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Frankfurt office will lead contestants for Miss Poland 2009 to have a preparation camp in Thailand. Polish beauties are scheduled to visit Thailand during October 5-14, 2009. People in Bangkok, Pattaya, Chonburi and Phuket will have a chance to welcome the camp.A group of 40 visitors including 25 finalists, 10 people from media team, and 5 organising staff will be in Phuket on October 7-11, 2009. Contestants will visit many attractions in Phuket and surrounding area such as Phang-nga Bay and Phi Phi island, to name a few, as so they will in other venues.
