Coach Ramos dismissed by CSKA Moscow

(CNN) -- Russian side CSKA Moscow have parted company with coach Juande Ramos after less than seven weeks in charge.

Ramos, who was handed the reins last month, has since overseen an inconsistent run of results.

The news of his exit has come on a pivotal date in the Spaniard's managerial career. He has been involved in previous job moves on October 26.

It is two years to the day since he resigned as Sevilla coach -- taking over as Tottenham manager 24 hours later.

Exactly 12 months ago, Harry Redknapp replaced Ramos at White Hart Lane -- within hours of the latter's dismissal.

It was Sunday's 3-1 defeat at home to FC Moscow in the Premier Liga which spelled the end of Ramos' brief stay in Russia.

That result left CSKA sitting fifth in the standings, 10 points behind leaders Rubin Kazan and in danger of missing out on a place in Europe next season.

Former FC Moscow and Krylia Sovetov coach Leonid Slutsky has been named as Ramos' replacement.

A statement on the club's official Web site confirmed: "Following an agreement between all parties, CSKA have cancelled their contract with head coach Juande Ramos.

"We are very grateful to Juande Ramos for the work he has done with the team. In turn the Spanish coach thanked the club's leadership and players for their co-operation and wished the football club every success."

CSKA lie third in Champions League Group B, six points behind Manchester United.
