Hundreds of Patrick Swayze's friends and family paid their last tribute to the film star at a private memorial service held on the Sony Studios lot in Culver City, Calif. on Sunday, October 4. The event, which was arranged by Patrick's wife Lisa Niemi, saw the attendees being "greeted by a lone white horse, which was owned and beloved by the late actor whose boots were facing backwards in the stirrups," People reports. The service, moreover, incorporated many photos of Patrick riding his horses and also a video tribute to him. Speeches to celebrate Patrick's life and a performance by professional dancers in honor of his talent were also featured. "A whole dance floor was built," a source tells the weekly publication. "The dancers did these amazing numbers." In lieu of flowers, Patrick's family has previously requested that guests "make donations to either of the following two organizations: The Patrick Swayze Pancreas Cancer Research Fund ... or Stand Up to Cancer", for which Patrick served as one of the featured speakers. Patrick Swayze lost his battle against stage 4 pancreatic cancer, which he was first diagnosed with in early 2008, on September 14 this year. According to his death certificate, his remains have been cremated and his ashes have been stored at his lawyer's office on behalf of his actress wife Lisa Niemi. Nevertheless, official statement is yet to be made by Patrick's camp on whether or not his ashes have been scattered.
