Miley Cyrus' song called "The Climb" which is featured on "Hannah Montana: The Movie" has been pulled out of 2010 Grammys' nominations list. In replacement, "All Is Love" which serves as one of the soundtracks for movie "Where the Wild Things Are" is filling the empty slot. "In an unexpected twist, one of the announced Grammy candidates for Best Song written for a Soundtrack has been disqualified after the fact (Miley Cyrus in fact)," Spike Jonze, the director for "Wild Things", announced on his blog We Love You So. "The nomination then goes to the song with the next-highest initial vote count, which is Karen O and the Kids' 'All is Love'."
Contrary to Spike's statement about the disqualification of "The Climb", sources close to Miley insist the song, which is not written by the Disney songstress, was not specifically penned for the movie, thus making it ineligible for the award and withdrawn from the nominations list. Official statements are expected to be made by both Grammy organizers and Miley Cyrus' camp at press time.
As for Karen O, publicist for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' vocalist has confirmed the inclusion of "All Is Love" penned by Karen and bandmate Nick Zinner in the Grammys race. This means that the band receive two nods. They have previously been listed in Best Alternative Album for their work on latest studio project "It's Blitz!".
On another news, Michael Jackson has been announced as a recipient of a special Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys. The late King of Pop will be honored in an invite-only ceremony on January 30, a day before the event is aired live on CBS.
