It's one of the most famous music events in the world.

But Glastonbury turned into a bit of a fashion contest today, as Emma Watson, Kate Moss and Pixie Geldof all battled it out to be the style queen of the 2010 festival.

The trio all arrived at the event in Somerset wearing similar outfits of tiny hotpants and boots.

While Watson opted for a khaki-print Louis Vuitton corset, denim shorts and spiked wellies, Moss, 36, went for denim hotpants, fishnet tights, a black vest top and a wax jacket - the most-desired festival fashion item du jour.

Meanwhile, Geldof, 19, decided to go for an all-black outfit in black shorts, a black T-shirt and lace jacket, complete with black socks and boots.

Watson and Moss both arrived at the festival with their respective boyfriends, model George Craig and musician Jamie Hince, looking happy and relaxed.

Model and musician Craig, 19, was first spotted with the actress when they saw the London production of War Horse earlier this month.

Writing on his Twitter at the time, he said: 'Heading to London this afternoon, going to the theatre tonight with a wonderful lady.'

Clearly enjoying the atmosphere at Pilton farm, Emma sat backstage and allowed a friend to apply a fake tattoo.

The transfer said 'mother lover' with a picture of two birds around it.

Australian singer/artist Rolf Harris kicked off the live music on the Pyramid Stage at 11am this morning, whipping the crowd into a frenzy with his classic Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport.

Thousands of people gathered in the sunshine to listen to the 80-year-old veteran sing a collection of songs.

Throughout the day, musical acts including Willie Nelson, Dizzee Rascal and Snoop Dogg all roused the crowds with their performances.

Other celebrities expected to attend the Festival as guests rather than performers include Kelly Osbourne and Kate Hudson.

Hollywood star Hudson is expected to attend the event with new boyfriend, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, who is performing later this weekend.

Among the huge names performing over the weekend includes Shakira, Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones, Pet Shop Boys, Groove Armada and Scissor Sisters.

Kylie Minogue is set to make her Glastonbury debut after her breast cancer battle forced to pull out of her headlining act five years ago.

Unlike previous soggy Glastonburys, this year is predicted to be the warmest in years as temperatures are expected to soar up to 30 degrees on Sunday.

Since the festival started yesterday, medical staff have already treated about 1180 people, mostly for heat-related illnesses.
