Enjoying his freedom: Charlie Sheen, who is set to serve jail time, took his daughters to Disneyland today

Charlie Sheen is making the most of his last days of freedom.

The actor, who is set to be jailed for 30 days after pleading guilty to an assault on his wife, took his daughters to Disneyland today.

He took Sam, 6, and birthday girl Lola, 5, around the theme park and arranged to have their faces painted.

He even managed to put aside his differences with ex-wife Denise Richards for the day, with the actress joining in on the family outing.

The Two And A Half Men star has accepted a plea deal that will put him behind bars for a month, according to sources involved with his case.

By agreeing to a lesser offence rather than the more serious charges of third degree assault and felony menacing he received a reduced sentence of just 30 days

Colorado officials are said to have rejected his request for smoking privileges in the jail.

Sheen,44, is due in court on June 7 following his arrest on Christmas Day in Aspen, Colorado.

Mug shot: Sheen faced a series of serious charges after wife Brooke claimed he had held a knife to her throat

He faced a series of serious charges after his wife Brooke Mueller claimed he had held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.

The couple have since split and Mueller, who later tried to withdraw the charges, was treated at a rehab clinic for a crack cocaine addiction.

Sheen, the highest paid actor on US TV, spent most of Christmas Day in jail after the arrest on domestic violence charges.

The assault took place after Sheen and his wife had been drinking at their rented home in the up market ski resort.

Despite Mueller's plea to drop the assault charges prosecutors pressed ahead with the case.

Lawyers for Sheen have been meeting with prosecutors in Colorado to thrash out a plea deal that would spare the actor from a lengthy sentence.

They have been anxious to get a reduced sentence so that Sheen will be able to film a new series of Two And A Half Men in August.

Sheen is paid £1.5million an episode making him the highest paid actor on US TV ahead of Huge Laurie in House and Kiefer Sutherland in 24.

'Charlie intends to go to court on June 7 to plead to a misdemeanour and immediately begin serving his 30 days in jail,' a source told People magazine in the US.

'With good behaviour, he could end up doing 15 or so days.'

Sheen and his 32 year old wife, a former estate agent, have twin boys Bob and Max following their 2008 marriage.

The couple are no longer living together and the actor has been linked to a lingerie model after he was spotted sneaking out of her flat in Los Angeles in a disguise.

A copy of their pre-nuptial agreement revealed that the longer Mueller stays married to Sheen the more money she will get from his estimated £40million fortune
