Classic beauty: Katie Holmes filmed new scenes for TV mini-series The Kennedys in Canada today

Katie Holmes says she is 'having a ball' playing Jackie Kennedy in made-for-TV miniseries, and boy does she look the part.

The actress was again spotted on location today with her perfectly set hair, flawless 60s-style make-up and elegant figure.

She later swapped into a baby blue dress - and strapped on a faux bump - to shoot scenes as a pregnant Mrs Kennedy.

Of filming The Kennedy's, Katie told US entertainment show Extra: 'I'm having a ball. It's a great group of people and I feel really lucky to be part of it and have this role.'

The 31-year-old recently took a helicopter from the set in Canada to New York to promote her new film, The Extra Man, which is about a wealthy widows' escort in New York who takes a young aspiring playwright under his wing.

And the actress admits that husband Tom Cruise, 48, organised the trip.

Katie said: 'My husband set it up for me, which is really nice.'

Tom is not the only family member Katie's been keeping in touch with.

Last week the Dawson's Creek star took a break between scenes to cuddle her four-year-old daughter Suri.

Suri must have been surprised at her mum's new look as the star wore a cream suit, pearls and has her hair styled a la Jackie O, instead of Katie's usual casual ponytail.

The actress reduced her acting commitments after Suri's birth and was sure to spend quality time with her daughter despite her work schedule.
