Scruffy Miley Cyrus ditches risqué stage look as her final Hannah Montana show airs

By Daily Mail Reporter

Unkempt: Miley Cyrus looks messy next to boyfriend Liam Hemsworth as they visit a gym in West Hollywood

She's known for her increasingly provocative on-stage outfits, but yesterday Miley Cyrus went the opposite end of the spectrum by hitting the gym in a pair of pajama-like tracksuit bottoms.

The Hannah Montana star looked like she had just rolled out of bed in the shapeless grey trousers and baggy black tank top.

And although boyfriend Liam Hemsworth looked more put together with his matching trainers and t-shirt, Miley clearly didn't see the need to make an effort.

The Disney star has been causing controversy lately with her raunchy on-stage antics and outfits, most notably dancing around a pole at MTV's Teen Choice Awards last August and wearing some very revealing costumes on her recent tour.

Even singer Katy Perry is concerned by the path Miley is taking, comparing the 17-year-old to troubled pop star Britney Spears.

'Oh my God, poor girl', Katy is quoted as saying to Life & Style Magazine. 'She's Britney Spears all over again. It's happening right before our eyes.'

'She's definitely headed the Britney route. It's worse. Look at those outfits. It's bad.'

But Miley remains unapologetic about her mature new image, expressing frustration at the criticism levelled against her.

'I can’t base my career off of the six-year-olds', Miley told reporters recently.

'It’s the 16-year-olds, the 26-year-olds I’m trying to reach for now. I have to move on.'

And she is moving on - the fourth and final season of Hannah Montana airs tonight in the U.S., after which Miley will officially retire her squeaky-clean Disney alter-ego.

Hannah Montana premiered on March 26, 2006 to the largest audience ever for a Disney Channel show.

It went on to become one of the highest-rated series on U.S. TV.
