This shore is fun: Myleene Klass and daughter Ava enjoy a day out on the Queensland beach

It's a tough life being a celebrity toddler. After a long day of frolicking on the sand and being spoon-fed your favourite ice cream, you’ve got to pose for pictures with your adoring fans – and mum.

Two-year-old Ava Klass was the centre of attention last week when mother Myleene took her to the beach during a rare day off from filming in Australia.

The former Hear’Say singer is currently working on the BBC children’s adventure show Escape From Scorpion Island in Tallebudgera Valley, Queensland – close to the jungle where she endured the challenges of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! four years ago.

The reality show provided a shot in the arm to her career, landing her several TV hosting jobs, a contract to model bikinis for Marks & Spencer, and even the chance to design her own range of children’s clothes for Mothercare, Baby K.

Little Ava wore a yellow-and-white woven dress from that collection for her day on the beach, while Mum wore a red strapless top and matching baggy shorts.

Myleene, who is worth an estimated £7.5million, is engaged to Ava’s father, Graham Quinn, her former bodyguard.

Cold comfort: Tucking into the ice cream takes all Ava's concentration

Now all three travel around the world together as a family while 32-year-old Myleene carries out her modelling and TV presenting assignments.

Myleene said of their trip to Australia: ‘Ava’s been having a ball feeding imaginary sharks each day – she loves it out here.

‘We go everywhere together. I know people think we’re quite nomadic but we have a very solid base, which is us three, and that’s what’s important.’

Just like Mum: Ava does a little modelling for the benefit of a fan

Myleene and Ava were spotted by fans on their beach trip, and happily posed for photographs.

The classically trained musician has taken over hosting CBBC’s Escape From Scorpion Island from former presenters J.K. and Joel for the fourth series, due to air later this year.

She has said of the Australian-British co-production, which sets its child contestants a series of physical challenges: ‘It’s fantastic to be given the chance to work Down Under.

‘It’s the first time I’ve been back since being in the jungle for I’m A Celebrity all those years ago. Hopefully this show will involve fewer bugs and spiders.’
