The star is said to have settled up for the huge sum with mistress number one Rachel Uchitel.
Rumours had been flying around that Miss Uchitel, who has not spoken about her fling with Woods, had been paid around $3million to keep quiet.
But now website TMZ, which broke the news of Michael Jackson’s death last year, says its sources have confirmed the golfer paid out $10 million in return for an iron-clad confidentiality agreement.
It reports: ‘There were numerous reports Rachel settled on the brink of holding a Gloria Allred-style news conference for anywhere between $2-5 million.
‘But our sources - and they are good - tell TMZ Tiger was so concerned with the depth and detail of information from Alleged Mistress No 1 that they folded like a cheap suit, and offered the huge $10 million sum in return for an ironclad confidentiality agreement.
‘TMZ has learned the actual settlement could fluctuate $1million either way, depending on future circumstances. But the baseline is $10million.
‘Compare Rachel's settlement with what other's received, if they got anything at all. We're told several mistresses got several hundred thousand dollars, and others got nothing.
‘That speaks volumes about how much Rachel knows.’
The revelation came as another mistress, porn star Devon James, has claimed ‘plenty’ more women are set to claim steamy flings with the disgraced golfer.
She told an Australian radio show that she has audio tapes, photos and text messages to prove her steamy fling with him.
The 29-year-old adult entertainer has already revealed how she and another female porn star enjoyed a threesome with Tiger while his wife Elin Nordegren was pregnant with their first child.

And she claimed more mistresses will emerge.
‘I promise you there will be plenty of other girls coming out,’ Miss James told the radio station.
According to Radaronline.com, the busty blonde also spilled more details about how she and Tiger, 34, allegedly met.
‘I had another girl, that I was good friends with, who was also a porn star in the Tampa area and she called me and said, “Hey girl, we got an out call... come with me, come with me, let's go and make some money,”’ she said.
‘I walked in and it was like, wow... It was kind of awkward.’ James, who has claimed that Tiger paid each girl $2,000 for the liaison, admitted she then ‘benefited on a regular basis’ from him.
When asked what how he behaved in the bedroom, James said: ‘Dirty, dirty, he was pretty nasty. He was dirty, bad, bad, bad - in the bedroom.’
The adult film star, who came forward for the first time last week, admitted she felt sorry for 31-year-old Elin.
‘She isn't aware of everything that has gone on and if I were her, I would take everything she can and run,’ she said.
