Tiger Woods has lost the battle to save his marriage, according to reports in the U.S. last night.

Friends said that Elin Nordegren has finally had enough of her errant husband and decided to divorce him.

A bizarre TV advert made by Woods featuring the voice of his late father was said to be the 'final straw' for the former model.

Nordegren, 30, refused to watch the golfing superstar make his comeback at the U.S. Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia, and flew out of Florida alone after he returned home.

She is said to be 'violently angry' over the black and white TV advert for Nike - screened on U.S. sports channels - that shows a silent and solemn Woods listening to the voice of his father Earl.

'Elin thought it was a cheesy thing to do,' one friend told People magazine in the U.S.

'That just made her madder. She is over Tiger. I wouldn't be surprised if she files for divorce sometime soon.'

TV show Entertainment Tonight claimed that the five-year marriage is 'definitely over'.

It said the Swede is putting the final touches to the divorce that could see her walk away with £200million from Woods's estimated £500million fortune.

Reporter Kevin Frazier, who has close links to the Woods camp, said: 'Sources have told me the marriage is indeed over.'

He claimed that Woods, 33, had rented a house for his wife and two children at the Masters in Augusta but she refused to attend.

Frazier added: 'All they have to do is work out a few more details on their divorce and they can sign the decree and both can move on.'

Woods, who has undergone counselling at a sex addiction clinic, had hoped to save his marriage after he was linked to 12 women.

Friends said Nordegren also believes that by returning to golf at the first opportunity, he has gone back on his word to work at his marriage.

A friend said: 'Elin's so far beyond hurt now.

'If she were angry or if she hated him, they might still have a chance to work it out.

'But she's beyond that. She's numb. She just doesn't care any more. Now she's moving on.'

Renovation work on a £1million home she bought in Sweden is understood to have been speeded up and it will be ready by the summer.
